1. I want to download XIMB PA form again as I forgot to download it after registration. How can I get it now?

2. What is the last date for applying to XIMB?

    The extended last date for XIMB Registration is December 31, 2005 and for receiving application fee along with Payment Advice Form is January 5, 2006.
3. I filled up the form online and have taken the DD also. I do not have access to a printer to print the payment advice. What do I do?

    You can send the DD with your XAT ID and mailing address clearly written on a plain white sheet.
4. What is the placement scenario at XIMB?

    There is a placement cell, which arranges for the campus recruitment of all students. The placement week is normally around the first week of January, when various companies are invited to the XIMB campus to recruit the students. About 50-60 companies visit the campus every year, which include Birlasoft, CavinKare, GE, Godrej, HDFC, HSBC, ICICI, IDBI, Infosys, JK Corpn., JP Morgan, Kotak, KPMG, Lafarge, Marico, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Sonata, TCS, Tata Motors, Wipro etc. The highest salary offered to the batch of 2005 was Rs. 9 lakhs p.a. and the average salary was Rs.5.24 lakhs p.a. 5. What are the infrastructure facilities at XIMB?

    XIMB has all the facilities befitting a world-class B-School. It is situated in a 20 acres well-maintained campus. It houses air-conditioned classrooms; computerised, networked and spacious library with over 31000 books, and subscribes to over 8000 journals (including electronic journals) etc. The campus LAN connects the entire academic facilities, students hostel and faculty residences (about 600 PCs) providing uninterrupted Internet access through 2 MBPS leased line. The entire campus is covered with the latest Wi-Fi Technology. The hi-tech a/c auditorium is of 850 seats capacity. Apart from office complexes, the Management Development Centre, faculty quarters, Bank ATM counter etc. are situated in the campus. The gents’ hostel has 192 single rooms and ladies’ hostel has 48 single rooms and 12 double rooms, with LAN nodes in every hostel room. The recreational facilities include cricket & soccer fields, floodlit basketball & lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton hall, gymnasium, jogging tracks etc.
6. What is XIMB’s ranking?

    Different B-School surveys have placed XIMB among the top B-Schools in the country. XIMB was listed among the Super League of 13 (AIMA rating of B-Schools for 2004). XIMB was also ranked 10th by Business World (Sep 2004), 13th by Business Today (Oct 2003), 9th by Business India (Oct 2002), 10th by Business Today (Jul 2002), 9th by Business India (Nov 2001), 11th by Outlook (Sep 2001)
7. What about the campus life at XIMB?

    Being a residential programme, there are separate hostels for gents and ladies. All the boys and a majority of girls are given single rooms. A student’s committee manages the hostel mess. To take care of the requirements of the students, hostels also provide round the clock photocopying and laser printing facilities and cafeteria. There is also a Cooperative store and several washing machines for students use.
8. What are the educational loan options available to XIMB students?

    A good number of present students have availed educational loans from either nationalised banks or private banks. SBI and UTI Bank are the major banks providing study loans to XIMB students. SBI, Fortune Tower Branch, Bhubaneswar has a special scheme for XIMB students. The study loans normally cover the course fee, hostel expenses and cost of individual computer, and are available to all those who need subject to meeting the banks’ criteria. The facilities include deferred payment options, in which repayment starts after the candidates start earning etc. However the agreement is between the bank and the student directly.
9. What about the recognition of the course?

    The 2-year PGDBM offered by XIMB is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to the MBA degree from an Indian University. It enables an XIMB graduate to undertake a PhD programme in any of the universities. Our PGDBM is also recognised as comparable to British Master’s Degree standard.
10. Is XIMB affiliated to any University?

    XIMB is an autonomous Institute not affiliated to any University. But the course is approved by AICTE, Government of India.
11. Who runs the Institute?

    XIMB is managed by Jesuit Fathers (the Christian group, who runs many renowned educational institutions across the globe including XLRI, St. Xavier’s Colleges – Mumbai & Kolkata, Loyola College etc. in India), under a Board of Governors with representation from Government of Orissa.
12. What are the specialisations available?

    A student can specialise in any one or two areas among Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations Management, and Information Systems. There is no limit on the number of students specialising in any area.
13. What about the faculty strength at XIMB?

    There are 34 full-time faculty members in XIMB, in addition to several visiting faculty members forming a strong base to its intellectual capital.
14. I am located in a remote place without proper Internet facilities. Can I be exempted from online application?

    No, XIMB applications are available online only.
15. I want to apply for more than one programme at XIMB.

    Yes, you can apply for more than one programme at XIMB, but you have to apply online separately and pay for each programme. You may note that the different programmes have different admission criteria.
16. I want to apply only to XIMB. Do I need to apply for XAT?

    Yes, you have to apply for XAT to be eligible to apply for admission to XIMB. XIMB does not conduct any admission test separately, but shortlists candidates for admission interview based on their performance in XAT.
17. I could not opt for XIMB while registering for XAT. Can I apply to XIMB now?

    Yes, you can apply to XIMB even if you have not chosen XIMB in your XAT application.
18. I have already registered and paid for XAT and selected XIMB in the XAT application. Do I need to apply and pay separately to XIMB?

    Yes, you have to apply (online) separately and pay separately to XIMB to be considered for admission to the programme offered by XIMB.
19. I am a BA final year student of Economics (honours) I will get 50% marks in the honours subject, but considering past course I will not get 50%in graduation. Am I eligible for your two year PGDBM programme?

    If you have cleared your UG degree, you are eligible for the programme.
20. I have registered online and sent the DD. What is the next step?

    Congratulations on completing the formalities for applying to XIMB. Upon receipt of payment at XIMB, you will receive an email confirming the acceptance of your XIMB application. Get ready to appear XAT on January 8, 2006 on the basis of your XAT registration and XAT Admit Card.
21. I registered online, but sent my DD without enclosing the payment advice. What do I do now?

    Please send an email to admisn@ximb.ac.in providing the DD number, bank on which it was drawn, your name, and XAT ID. Mention \"sent payment without XAT ID in the subject line.
