1. What is the last date for applying to XIMB?

    The extended last date to fill up the online application form is 21 December 2013 and for receiving application fee along with Payment Advice Form at XIMB it is 31 December 2013.
2. I want to apply for more than one programme at XIMB?

    Yes, you can apply for more than one programme at XIMB, but you will have to fill up separate application forms and pay for each form. You can also apply to one programme through different tests (e.g. XAT, CAT and GMAT) by filling additional forms for the same programme. You can pay the total application fee in a single transaction/DD.

For example, Mr XYZ wants to apply for different programmes at XIMB. He first fills up the Personal Details, Academic Details, Professional Details and uploads photo & signature, and is then allotted a XIMB ID: XIMB50002. Then he fills up the application form of MBA programme and chooses CAT, and gets the application form no. 200003. Then he decides to apply for MBA again through XAT. He fills up the MBA form a second time through XAT and gets the application form no. 200004. Subsequently he fills up the MBA-HRM form through CAT and gets the application form no. 225002. Then he fills up the MBA-RM form and chooses XAT, and gets the application form no. 235003. He has filled a total of 4 forms and he will have to pay Rs.3550/- (1300+750+750+750) towards the application fee.

3. I want to download XIMB PA form again as I forgot to download it after registration. How can I get it now?

    Login with your XIMB ID and password and click on "Download PA Form" given on the left menu on the "Programme Details" page.
4. I am located in a remote place without proper Internet facilities. Can I be exempted from online application?

    No, XIMB application forms can be filled up through online method only.
5. I want to apply only to XIMB. Do I need to apply for XAT or CAT?

    Yes, you have to apply for XAT or CAT GMAT to be eligible to apply for admission to XIMB’s MBA programme. XIMB does not conduct any admission test separately, but shortlists candidates for admission interview based on their performance in XAT-2014, or CAT-2013, or GMAT taken in 2012 or 2013.
6. I could not opt for XIMB while registering for XAT. Can I apply to XIMB now?

    Yes, you can apply to XIMB even if you have not chosen XIMB in your XAT application.
7. I have already registered and paid for XAT and selected XIMB in the XAT application. Do I need to apply and pay separately to XIMB?

    Yes, you have to apply (online) separately and pay separately to XIMB to be considered for admission to the programme offered by XIMB.
8. I am a BA final year student of Economics (honours). I will get 50% marks in the honours subject, but considering pass courses I will not get 50% in aggregate. Am I eligible for your two year MBA programme?

    No, you need to have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate, which takes into account all mandatory papers of graduation course.
9. I have applied online and sent the DD along with Payment Advice Form to XIMB . What is the next step?

    Congratulations on completing the formalities for applying to XIMB. Upon receipt and processing of payment at XIMB, you will receive an email confirming the acceptance of your XIMB application form.
10. I applied online, but sent my DD without enclosing the payment advice form. What do I do now?

    Please send an email to admisn@ximb.ac.in, providing the DD number, amount, bank on which it was drawn, your name, and XIMB ID and Form Number(s). Mention "sent payment without PA Form" in the subject line.

1. What is the fee structure for the programme?

    The total programme fee for 2-year MBA-RM will be Rs. 8.60 lakhs, to be paid in 2 annual instalments. The hostel expenses will be extra (about Rs. 1.00 lakh).
2. What is the total number seats for MBA-RM?

    The approved intake capacity is 60 seats for full-time MBA-RM. All seats are under XAT-2013, CAT-2012, and GMAT.
3. What is the placement scenario at XIMB?

    There is a placement cell, which arranges for the campus recruitment of all students. The placement week is normally around the first week of January, when various companies are invited to the XIMB campus to recruit the students. About 30-35 companies visit the campus every year. The highest domestic salary offered to the RM batch of 2013 was Rs. 9.65 lakhs p.a. and the average salary was Rs.5.55 lakhs p.a. You may also refer to our home page for more details.
4. What are the infrastructure facilities at XIMB?

    XIMB has all the facilities befitting a world-class B-School. It is situated in a 20 acres well-maintained compact campus. It houses air-conditioned classrooms; computerised, networked and spacious library with over 56000 books, and subscribes to over 9000 journals (including electronic journals) etc.

The campus LAN connects the entire academic facilities, students hostel and faculty residences (about 1000 work stations) providing uninterrupted Internet access through 140 MBPS leased line. The entire campus is covered with the latest Wi-Fi Technology.

The hi-tech a/c auditorium is of 850 seats capacity. Apart from office complexes, the Management Development Centre, students’ hostels, studio apartments, faculty quarters etc. are situated in the campus.

The gents’ hostels have 292 single rooms and ladies’ hostel has 148 single rooms and 12 double rooms, with LAN nodes in every hostel room. The recreational facilities include cricket & soccer fields, floodlit basketball & lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton hall, gymnasium, jogging tracks etc.

5. What is XIMB’s ranking?

    Different B-School surveys have placed XIMB among the top B-Schools in the country. XIMB was ranked 10th by Business World all India B-School Survey-2012, and placed in Super League -1 of AIMA B-School Survey 2012.
6. What about the campus life at XIMB?

    The MBA-RM programme will be offered from our new Kurki campus, which is situated at a distance of 20 km from our existing campus.

Being a residential programme, there are separate hostels for gents and ladies. A student’s committee manages the hostel mess.

7. What are the educational loan options available to XIMB students?

    A good number of present students have availed educational loans from either nationalised banks or private banks. SBI is the major bank providing study loans to XIMB students. SBI, Fortune Tower Branch, Bhubaneswar has processed maximum number of loan applications. The study loans normally cover the course fee, hostel expenses and cost of individual computer, and are available to all those who need subject to meeting the banks’ criteria.

The facilities include deferred payment options, in which repayment starts after the candidates start earning etc. However the agreement is between the bank and the student directly.

8. Is XIMB under any University?

    XIMB is part of the new Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, established under the Xavier University Bill 2013.
9. Who runs the Institute?

    XIMB is managed by Jesuit Fathers (the Christian group, who runs many renowned educational institutions across the globe including XLRI, St. Xavier’s Colleges – Mumbai & Kolkata, Loyola College etc. in India), under a Board of Governors with representation from Government of Odisha.
10. What are the specializations available?

    A student can specialize in any one or two areas among Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, and Information Systems. There is no limit on the number of students specializing in any area.
11. What about the faculty strength at XIMB?

    There are 49 full-time faculty members in XIMB, apart from several visiting faculty members forming a strong base to its intellectual capital.
